Zalgiris Cempionai Sausages!

Type of Recipe: Beer food
Level: Lithuanian Cup

What a great night! Our beloved Zalgiris is back to their throne and to honour them I came up with a quick "manly" recipe. Basically using whatever left in the fridge.

Ingredients: (1-3 persons, depending on drunkness level)
1/2 red and yellow pepper
1/2 onion
3 sausages
75ml beer
1 garlic clove
Tabasco
Parsley

Instructions:
Chop up your peppers, onion, garlic, parsley and sausages [pic 1]. Put a spoon of olive oil in the pan and let it heat. Add sausages and saute them for about 5 minutes [pic 2]. Add the beer (just 75ml, the rest we will drink) and let the alcohol evaporate.

Add peppers and onion. Add freshly ground salt and black pepper (lot's of black pepper) [pic 3]. Stir for around 2-3 minutes. We don't want to soften the vegetables a lot as we need them to have some crunch and juice left in them. Add the garlic and parsley and give a final 1-2 stirs. Remove from stove. Let it rest for 2-3 minutes and take a time out drinking some beer.

Ideally the sausages would suit tortilla bread the best, but it's Sunday so I had to settle for what I had, toast bread that is. Place the toast bread on the place and serve the sausages on top (it will be fancy "Euroleague" level open sandwich). Add some drops of tabasco. You're all set.

Boki's Red-Lentil Soup
Type of Recipe: Lunch & DinnerSoup
Level: Euroleague

We all know that spinach is the source of Popeye's superhuman strength... but, how about Boki's flexibility? Simple... He adores Turkish Red-Lentil Soup.

Ingrediants:
1 cup red lentils, washed and drained
1 onion, chopped
1 small carrot, chopped
1 tbsp crushed tomato, in can
1 tsp red pepper paste
1 1/2 cubes beef bouillon
3 cups water

1 tbsp butter
Red pepper
Cayenne pepper

Instructions:
Place all the main ingredients in a medium-sized pot. Cook for about 20 minutes on medium-low heat. Then mix thoroughly using a blender. If necessary (too thick), add more hot water. Pour into soup bowls using a ladle.
Melt the butter in a small pan and add in the peppers. When it starts bubbling, pour over the soup. Serve Red Lentil Soup while still hot with fresh bread. Add a few drops of lemon juice to taste.
